Out On Blue Six (1981) The Pinkies (1981) The Room (1980)

Three singles from bands that are on the two Armageddon Records compilations. Featuring bands who played regularly at London's Moonlight Club between August 1979 and October 1981. Check out the comps here and here.
All good to stupendously great post punk songs.

  3. Out on Blue Six is fantastic! I am quite the student of late 70s/early 80s post-punk, but I have to say this caught me by surprise as I had never heard of them before. A shame it appears to be their only release...

Thanks so much for this post..and everything else you do here with your blog

    1. I know what you mean. There was so much unique great music coming out around that time it's near impossible to have heard it all, even after digging around for decades. The blog explosion of the last few years has helped much of this stuff come to light.

    1. My thoughts exactamundo. Btw The Room put of a few records that were reissued by LTM recordings. Indoor Fireworks is worth checking out. The Out on Blue Six guitar player went on to play in Shriekback with Barry Andrews from XTC, and Dave Allen from Gang of Four. Their early stuff is good. Don't know what happened with The Pinkies, only wish they had an LP! The Pinkies were the bee's knees.
